and to acknowledge another fact, i'm looking forward to mass dance sessions now! vj mass dance is SOo COOL can!
recall the moment when we had mass dance in ny (if u are ex-ny student). then look at vj one. itz like the sky and the earth. even jamie oso said the same thing. it was not only fun, exciting etc, but very engaging as well. they say vj is known for itz skul spirit, and this i can see from mass dance and cheering session. i couldnt really rmb the cheers in ny, but i can do it for vj.
ok, itz a good start.
and one of my OGL is a msian scholar!! sg is so small when u dont expect to meet anybody. the other one is a band senior! like wow! and i got cheated TWICE yesterday during the cca walkabout you know.. they put up fake ccas to cheat ppl. the four fake ones were biking, personal grooming, rock band and skating! omg, i signed up for rock band and skating la.. and aft the walkabout they went to call those who got cheated by fake ccas to go on stage and do the "mashed potato", ie the dancing action whereby u shake ur shoulders and lean forward and backward, with ur partner. eight of the 'invigour' (my team, in Icis OG) including me signed up for rock band! haha luckily only joel got called.. but as a display of team spirit, the whole invigour grp went up wif him, and as a result, we got 10pts for team spirit. haha.
and i love mass dance!! oh man, really. so far they taught 4, out of 6. but as usual, i cant rmb the sequence, so i'm always half a beat slower than wai kin. haha. i think he is tired of teaching us ald. there's this 'chicken little' movement in the 'tribal dance', which really needs body coordination. took us a while to get that. and there's this OGL who is damn enthu abt mass dance, and he's really good at it, just that when u look at him dancing, u tend to, err, giggle. he did the chicken little movement and that sent us into fits of laughter. ha.
and WHINEY WHINEY! we dance that in a circle, but in the chorus, everyone gotta shout "crazy, aha aha". hahaha. there are many 'funny moves in that dance, like the egyptian dance. then halfway, u've gotta push ppl into the center of the circle, so that now there is a smaller circle inside the ori circle.
and NEUTRON! super fast one. therez this super fast movement, whereby u face the person dancing beside u, and both lift up your right legs, step down the same leg, and kick using the same leg, all in 2 counts. then u change to the other leg. repeat the same thing twice. wah that is nice i tell u.
and today they taught us FRIENDSHIP dance. this one, we have to dance wif guys. it was only then that i realized that there are not enough guys for the girls! so all the OGLs had to dance the guy part. there were movements like 'chee cheong fun' and 'mashed potatoes' haha... very nice, but make sure u get a good partner. uhm, u know what i mean right?
there are two more dances i've yet to learn. they are called 'la bamba' and 'i want you'. gonna learn that tmr i guess.
and speaking of tmr, i'm so so excited! we are going to have a mass dance in suntec! gonna dance ard the fountain of wealth! i think the moment wld be very grand, i mean, u see so many ppl wearing the same tee and vj shorts, all ard the fountain, doing the same dance... one concern, i dun want to embarrass myself tmr, but i really need prompts from OGLs during the whole dance.. haha. so if u 'happen' to be in suntec on friday, just u noe, make it 'happen' again to be near the fountain of wealth lo... trust me, vj mass dance is hip!
